What we stand for

EDUCATION

The goal of the Trust Fund is to increase access to quality education because it is a vital human right which plays a key role in human, social and economic development. In view of this, the Trust Fund had been able to provide Educational facilities ranging from functional Kindergarten, Primary and Junior High schools as well Teachers’ accommodation for the 52 resettlement townships.

This has resulted in an increase in school enrolment. Teachers’ absenteeism has also reduced since they have been provided with accommodation and do not have to walk for long distances before going to school.

HEALTH

The Trust Fund considers health care as a basic human requirement. In order to increase access to medical facilities and also motivate nurses in the resettlement townships, the Trust Fund ensure that health related facilities like clinics and nurses’ quarters are provided in the townships. This is because most of the townships are far away from health care centres in the district of which they are located.

This is making it possible for the townships to access their health related needs without travelling for long distances when they need medical attentions.

WATER

Potable drinking water has been one of the essential commodities in the townships. Most of them have to fetch water directly from the Lake which sometimes results in the incidence of water-borne diseases. In order to reduce the incidence of water-borne diseases in the communities, the Trust Fund has been partnering with donors and NGOs like the Community Water and Sanitation Agency, DANIDA and Safe Water Network for provision of water in some of the townships.

This has reduced the incidence of water-borne diseases in most of the townships.

SANITIZATION

To ensure cleanliness and hygiene in the townships, the Trust Fund has provided sanitary facilities in the townships and schools as well. This has eliminated open defaecation in the townships.

SOCIAL WELFARE PROJECTS

Construction of Police Station

To assist in combating crime and also make the communities safe and peaceful, the Trust Fund has taken steps to construct Police Stations in crime prone areas. One has been constructed at Dedeso Wireko resettlement township and this would be replicated in the other communities when funds become available.
